Noise for Tinnitus
Audio is synthesized live in your browser โ nothing is downloaded. Press play to start.
Some people play a steady background sound so that ringing in the ears has something to blend into and stands out less. Broadband white noise is the traditional choice because it covers a wide range of frequencies, which is why this page defaults to it โ though pink and brown are gentler alternatives worth trying.
This page is general information, not medical advice. Tinnitus has many causes; an audiologist or doctor can recommend an approach suited to you, including proper sound-therapy devices. Keep the volume comfortable โ masking should sit under, not over, the ringing.
The noise colors
- White โ Flat, full hiss.
- Pink โ Balanced, softer.
- Brown โ Deep low rumble.
- Blue โ Bright, airy hiss.
- Green โ Mid-focused.
Every color here is generated from scratch with the Web Audio API the moment you press play โ there are no sound files to load and nothing leaves your device. That is also why it keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
